Fashion Friday | Fashion illustration: 1940's Inspired Design

This April we will be having a Pre-nup (Engagement) shoot which will feature my designs. They decided on a theme based shoot from the very popular movie "The Notebook". Being the makeup artist / stylist / fashion designer / creative director for this shoot I had a chat with the Bride-To-Be, did some brainstorming and we agreed on 3 looks. I created these Fashion Illustrations for proposed looks for their shoot.

Mostly I designed outfits of the bride-to-be since the styling for the groom will not be as complicated as hers. So here we go:

First Look: "The First Date"

My design for the first date look was more on the floral and bubbly image of a 1940's young lady. She will be wearing her hair down with side clips / flowers and curls. We imagined the couple to be having their "eureka" moment on this look. The first stage of their courtship.

Second Look: "Castaways"

Getting to know each other they felt like they were the only people on the island. I designed a simple dress for the bride-to-be. It is a more outgoing and spirited design with a touch of elegance at the back. She has a beautiful skin, thus we decided to really flaunt it.

Third Look: "The Proposal"

This is a very formal look. The bride is to be styled with pearls and an up-do. This look describes their journey to maturity as they take on to the next chapter of their lives. I designed An elegant black dress with back details for more glamour and sophistication.

We will be shooting during the holy week and I hope we pull off what we have imagined. Ofcourse, our main priority is to celebrate the life of the couple as we tell their story through pictures.

Hoping for the best! I pray we pull off the dresses as well!! *crossing fingers*

Feel free to comment on my designs ;)
