Yes! For the second time around, I voted. I am really proud of being part of this election. One vote would really count. And the thought of voting not just for yourself, or for your future, but for the future of your COUNTRY. The well-being of your nation.
Today, I did not woke up early to vote. I was really planning to vote during lunch time, where most of the people were already taking up lunch. I don't want long lines and long hours of waiting. So I stayed at home for a while (well, my precinct was just a walk away).
Then it rained.
It rained really hard! So we stayed at home for a while until after lunch. So I checked the internet first. Thanks to www.rappler.com who has a very useful profile of candidates, I was able to review my voting list. Also thanks to our campaign to #VoteSmart many people were informed on how and who to vote.
After lunch, the rain stopped. And it was time to go out and VOTE.
At 2PM, only few people were coming in to vote. We passed by some friends who were already done voting. We went straight to the area where you get your designated precinct number. Again, there was no line. Yay!
Inside the precinct, the people were also few and the line moved really fast. I got my voting folder in 5 mins.
Then after a few minutes, I'm DONE.
Positions for voting:
12 Senators
1 Party List
1 District Representative
1 Provincial Governor
1 Provincial Vice Governor
4 Provincial Board Members (Sanguniang Panlalawigan)
1 Mayor
1 Vice Mayor
8 Council Members (Sanguniang Bayan)
Hoping for a successful election this year. The Philippines indeed deserve a better future. And it starts with me.
