MAYBELLINE
Dream Liquid Mousse
It says that it has an Airbrush Finish and she was selling the Caramel DARK 2. It was darker than my skin tone and she said it was perfect for contouring. I was already looking for a contour foundation, but I can't find a dark one from all the other drugstore brands. Though MAC and Make Up Forever has dark tones, though I still don't have the budget for them.
So this came, and it was a very dark shade. It's the second to the last (darkest shade) of the Dream Liquid Mousse foundation line.
Skin Swatch
So here's how it looks to my skin. I am not really fair, but I'm not dark as well. I'm more on the Light-Medium tone. It's consistency is very light. It is not at all creamy. But I think its coverage is medium to full coverage. It has a mousse feel when it's pumped out.
But when it is spread out, it is very easy and takes a lot of coverage. It is DEWY, so most oily skinned may have a problem with this. Maybe put a matte primer before this. It does not have any shimmer in it but it does not dry up that fast as compared to Revlon Colorstay which is Matte.
I haven't tried this for contouring but for my next shoot, I will give this a try and update all of you about it. It comes in 12 shades both with pink and yellow undertones. So I think you have enough color choices, I just might try the others as well.
I might recommend this for dry to combination skin.
PROS:
- Price (it's cheaper as compared to Revlon)- Color (very pigmented)
- Dewy and Satin Finish (will give skin enough moisture)
- Coverage (medium to full)
- Packaging (I love the pump)
CONS:
- Might not be good for oily skin- Staying power (I might need to prove this, but as a spread it out on my hand, it MAY come off easily. You might need to use a setting spray or setting powder after this.)
