Met Gala 2013: What happened?
So after the most awaited fashion / red carpet event of the Met Gala, I identified my 10 Best Dressed ladies. However, I cannot keep myself from noticing dresses that just got me asking "What went wrong?" and "Really, what were you thinking??". We all have our opinions, and I just want to share mine.
Met Gala 2013: The Attention Seekers
#1 Floral
I'm definitely a "Floral" fan.. But for this kind of event, with a theme of "PUNK: Chaos to Couture", I just can't figure out WHY wear something like this?
Left to Right: Amanda Seyfried wore a Givenchy dress and shoes with Fred Leighton jewelry. Kerry Washington is in a Vera Wang sleeveless V-neck lavender metallic floral print mermaid gown with bubble lace veiled decolletage, silk and lace flange detail at the train and chrysanthemum lace peplum accent, accessorized with a pair of black hand-stitched opera length lamb skin gloves. (TOO MUCH!!!) Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine chose a Chanel gown from the Spring/Summer 2013 Haute Couture Collection. Kim Kardashian is wearing a Riccardo Tisci dress and gloves with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.

#3 Monotone
Three of the most beautiful in Hollywood... wearing the "Monotone". Why?
Left To Right: Gwyneth Paltrow wore a Valentino dress with Wilfredo Rosado earrings. Katie Holmes looked ghostly in her Calvin Klein Collection dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Cameron Diaz wore a Stella McCartney blue crepe gown with cape, gold spiked belt and platform stud sandalas and wooden box clutch.
#4 Sidecuts
Left to Right: Alicia Keys was in a custom Jason Wu dress, Robert Lee Morris jewels, a Tonya Hawkes clutch and Casadei heels. Nicki Minaj (punk no more) is in a navy blue Tommy Hilfiger gown. What's up with the hair dear? Where's the real Nicki Minaj?!?! This is so not her.. :(
#5 Black & Nets
Left to Right: Ashley Green wore a black and gold Marchesa gown with Harry Winston jewels. Gisele Bundchen was in an Anthony Vacarello dress showing off TOO much of her skin. Peek-a-boo! Lena Dunham wore Erdem Moralioglu. Sleeveless is not the best decision, too much fats I guess. Not sexy.. AT ALL. Jessica Biel wore Giambattista Valli from head-to-toe.
#6 The Retro
Left to Right: Elle Fanning is wearing Rodarte dress, shoes and ear cuff with Van Cleef & Arpels rings. Dyed are not so punk to me. And those eyes were SCARY!!! :( Solange Knowles wore Kenzo dress with an Edie Parker clutch. Please, it doesn't look nice anymore since Beyonce pulled off that look on her movie "Austin Powers: Goldmember".
#7 Weirded Out
Left to Right: Ginnifer Goodwin wore Tory Burch. Lily Cole wearing Vivenne Westwood. Sienna Miller wearing a Burberry crepe open back plunging dress with crystal and stud embellishment, studded cropped biker jacket.
#8 Scary Black
Left to Right: Paloma Faith wore Michael Cinco gown. Kelly Osbourne is in a Marc Jacobs dress, Brian Atwood shoes, a Jennifer Behr hairpiece, and Eddie Borgo jewelry. Florence Welch wore Givenchy. Diane Kruger is in a Chanel dress with dip-dyed hair gone wrong.
#9 Table Cloth
Christina Ricci in a tartan dress by Vivienne Westwood couture, fishnet tights and platform shoes.
#10 Divas
Madonna was in a Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci tartan jacket and fishnets.
Katy Perry is in a religious Dolce & Gabbana dress with a crown and vampish lipstick. Shorter sleeves would be better. But I love the CROWN.
Nicole Richie in Topshop Couture with gray hair. Ghostly.
Everybody on the Gala did their best to dress up, and others went too far. I still enjoyed seeing their dress of choice. Really showing how much are they willing to risk to GLAM up!
